At HMP BIOGENIC, we're committed to developing novel feminized cannabinoid-rich cultivars of hemp that are highly suitable for the short Canadian growing season.
Our History
Founded in 2015, HMP BIOGENIC has been dedicated to improving the hemp industry through R&D and innovation. We have developed novel breeding techniques for creating feminized and auto-flowering hemp. We have also developed several new cultivars that are registered with the Canadian Seed Growers’ Association (CSGA) and Health Canada.
Our MIssion
Our mission is to develop a diverse catalogue of premium cannabinoid-rich cultivars of hemp for the production of smokable flower and extraction-grade biomass. We focus on hemp cultivars that are highly suitable for the short Canadian growing season such as early-flowering and auto-flowering cultivars. Our breeding efforts are targeted at cannabinoid content and terpene profile of the flowers.

Frey Garabagi
Plant Breeder
Founder and managing director of HMP BIOGENIC Frey Garabagi, PhD, is a plant geneticist with over 10 years of experience in the regulated cannabis industry overseeing quality assurance, research, breeding, and product development. Frey is a hemp breeder recognized by the Canadian Seed Growers' Association (CSGA).

Brandon Croyden
Master Seed Grower
Brandon is a horticulturalist and naturalist with a wealth of experience in cannabis cultivation and culture. He is the breeder-in-training at HMP Biogenic. Brandon began his career growing hemp in the Okanagan Valley and now operates a hemp farm on Vancouver Island.
